KONSTANTINOS DIMOPOULOS

Konstantinos Dimopoulos is an Assistant Professor in the subject "Choreology: Greek Traditional Dance" at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports Science. He is a graduate of Physical Education and Sports (S.E.F.A.A.) of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (E.K.P.A.), specializing in "Greek Traditional Dance", but also "Orchestral". He holds a master's degree (MSc) in "Folklore and Anthropology of Dance" from S.E.F.A.A. of E.K.P.A., holder of a doctoral degree in the same subject and at the same institution. He has also completed his post-doctoral research in the same subject and at the same institution. He has specialized in the Laban movement/dance Notation system with two levels of studies from the Dance Notation Bureau in America. He has completed two cycles of the Intensive Educational Program (Erasmus) on "Dance Movement of Past and Present" conducted in Norway by the University of Norway.

His other studies are the completion of educational programs related to dance such as "Modern approaches and creativity in the teaching of Greek traditional dance: Morphological teaching method", but also other educational programs such as "Digital Education", "HTML 5 and JavaScript: The First Steps in Web Development", "Training of Adult Trainers", "Training of Trainers in Skills through Workshops", "Training of SEP members in Open and Distance Education - EexAE", "Organization and Promotion of Exhibitions, Cultural Activities and Festivals" and "Mix Marketing & Brand".

He presents teaching work both at S.E.F.A.A. of Athens (E.K.P.A.), as well as in S.E.F.A.A. Trikala (University of Thessaly) with the subject "Greek Traditional Dance". He also taught "Greek Traditional Dance" at the Permanent Non-Commissioned Officers School (S.M.Y.). He presents educational work in both Primary and Secondary Education as an Associate Professor of Physical Education.

He participated in scientific research programs both at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (SEFAA) and the University of Thessaly (SEFAA). He also participates in scientific conferences, as well as in scientific journals, with published work, both in Greece and abroad. He is a member of Greek and international scientific organizations, while his research interests and published work concern the humanities and social sciences in relation to dance, culture, history, the analysis of the form of dance (semiography, structural-morphological analysis, typology), gender relations in relation to dance, the politics of identities in dance, etc. On a professional level, he has been a member of, and has taught Greek traditional dance in various dance groups in Greece.
