Kyriaki Mertzani is a volunteer in homeless shelters and groups of vulnerable people from natural disasters and wars. She volunteers her time to provide support and care in refugee camps in the area where she lives.
She is also a member of the NGO C14 for the care and medical assistance of refugees and the Volunteers and Civil Protection Association in the area of Thriasio, Elefsina, in Athens.
She is the author of a book about her private research on the reproduction of family trauma.
